This gearbox addresses all issues with the inferior gearbox grade of bearings used in this German designed Getrag Gearbox!

These gearboxes from brand new are made with inferior non-gearbox grade (C3) bearings which fail as early as 40,000kms if you tow or carry heavy loads, but their average lifespan is usually between 80,000-120,000kms.  Most common is the front cluster BEARING fails and takes out 5^th & 6^th gears which makes for an expensive rebuild. (inputshaft (5th), 5th Gear & 6th gear set).   This gearbox is NOT a Towpack and only has uprated bearings fitted but still comes with a 12 Month warranty.

These gearboxes are built on a very tight margin and are sold on an EXCHANGE basis only.  Your old unit (including housing, bolts & all internals) must be returned to us within 20 business days of receipt.  If your unit has run low on oil, OR damaged the casing or clustershaft, or is mostly unserviceable as a standard gearbox, the core deposit may not be refundable.

This Gearbox has been fully rebuilt with modified 3rd Gear and brand new 5th Gear &  5th hub Assembly, and the entire geartrain is cryogenically processed and heat tempered in a machine specifically designed to strengthen parts for NASA !!  This changes the molecular structure of the steel, making them more fatigue resistant = more durable.
