This gearbox addresses all issues with the inferior gearbox grade of bearings used in this German designed Getrag Gearbox with the addition of our awesome TOWPACK® UPGRADE to make towing a breeze in 5th Gear!!
These gearboxes from brand new are made with inferior non-gearbox grade (C3) bearings which fail as early as 40,000kms if you tow or carry heavy loads, but their average lifespan is usually between 80,000-120,000kms. Most commonly the front cluster BEARING fails and takes out 5th & 6th gears which makes for an expensive rebuild. Apart from upgrading the bearings, in our TowPack® “Plus” we CryoTuff® treat the most common bearings and parts which commonly faiil as well as our additional TowPack® mods which are all about keeping the geartrain nice and tight under the strains of towing or carrying load.
